“The City Has Many Faces” — Free on Amazon from Sept. 14 through the 18th

city has many faces front cover only

Mexico City, from the mountains which surround it, it seems to be a sea of moving lights, and once inside it, it is like being caught up in a dream that captures your whole imagination and you don’t want to wake up from it. No matter what you try to do, the city has its hold on you, shimmering there in the mountains, swelling and subsiding and whispering in your ear.

  1. John Holt says:

I gave this a 5 star review – I tried to categorize the story – was it a thriller, historical, crime, fantasy, romance. The truth is it is all of these, and more. I finally decided that it was a romance – a romance story of the love of the author for the City. In a series of connected short stories we learn of the geography of the City; the history of the City; and of its diverse population. I couldn’t decide how much was based on real events, and real people, but I suspect much of the story is true, and i think that somewhere in there is a lot of the author, and is affection for the City is obvious.
